Godzilla Season

Godzilla rules, but you can't always find our fave giant lizard on the streaming services ... except during the month of October. That brings out the kaiju in 'em. Here's a likely incomplete but possibly slightly helpful guide:

The Criterion Channel

Maybe you associate Criterion with fancy pants films but they're go-go-Godzilla all the way, with the largest trove of classique Godzilla and Toho movies that I could find on a streaming service. They're featuring two collections: Godzilla: The Showa-Era Films, 1954-1975 and Ishiro Honda, King of the Monsters, which collects movies directed by Honda, including many Godzilla flicks. In all, there are more than 20 Godzilla, Kaiju and related sci-fi films to choose from.

HBO Max

If the newer, um, American-er Godzilla movies are more your thing, HBO Max has Godzilla vs. Kong and the 2014 Godzilla, plus the '98 version and a handful of OG 'zillas to boot. They also have a pretty great Halloween collection just in general.

Tubi

Man what doesn't Tubi have??? That's a good free service. They have those Showa-Era joints that Criterion is featuring, so that eases the pain if you don't have Criterion. With commercials but calm down, commercials are cool again.

Hulu

Carving out a special niche, Hulu is featuring Japanese Godzilla movies from the 90s and early 2000s as part of their Huluween section. One is called Godzilla, Mothra and King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack and those happen to be my three fave Toho monsters, so.

Peacock

Our NBC/Universal pals have seven Godzilla movies from the 50s-70s to choose from, including 1954's Godzilla in black and white if you really wanna scare the young 'uns.

Netflix

The good folks at Netflix are the exception to that thing I said earlier about not being able to find Godzilla media on streaming services, 'cause they make their own, bay-bee!!! They have three anime movies and Godzilla Singular Point, which is an anime series.
